Asikuma Odoben Brakwa: Bannasco Francis Ampong-Ansah Files To Contest NPP Parliamentary Primaries

Bannasco Francis Ampong-Ansah a leading member of the NPP national communication team, a Tutor at Presec Legon and Secretary and PRO to the Breman development Committee (BDC) and Breman Area Development Association (BADA) has filed his nomination to contest for the NPP parliamentary Primaries at Asikuma Odoben Brakwa in the Central Region on Tuesday 8/8/23 at NPP constituency office at Asikuma lorry station.

This filing makes it the second time in a role that Bannasco Ampong-Ansah (Pay Your Tithe as he’s affectionately called by residents) has expressed interest to lead NPP in the Constituency due to his lasting commitment and genuine desire to represent the good people of Asikuma Odoben Brakwa (AOB) and market their potential to Ghanaians and the world at large.

Bannasco Ampong-Ansah was accompanied by campaign manager, Mr. Paul Asani Addae, founder of Unique Academy International school in Breman Asikuma and Mr Hakeem Appiah Founding member of NPP in Asikuma Odoben Brakwa, Mr. Edward Baffoe Nimo, the campaign secretary, the wife Mrs Victoria Ampong-Ansah and a multitude of polling station executives from all the 32 electoral areas.

In his speech during the submission, Bannasco pledged his unflinching support to the party and assured the committee headed by Mr Kwame Annan, chairman of council of ELDERS to engage in a decent campaign as he has always done in th past Elections and his willingness to support the party break the 8 and win back the MP slot with He Bannasco as the candidate.

He also admonished his co-aspirants to desist from the attacks on each other in order to prevent what has characterized the party internal contest since 2012 and especially what happened during the 2020 primaries which lead into sharp division in the party that accounted for the loss of the seat to the NDC.

He emphasized that, it was very sad to note that due to that division, even though the president Nana Akufo Addo won with over 7900 difference on NDC John Mahama, the parliamentary candidate lost with 2741 votes to the NDC candidate representing over 10641 Skirt and Blouse Votes.

In his final remarks he assured all his supporters to be optimistic of a resounding Victory in the Primaries and subsequently a bigger win with the widest margin between NPP and NDC in the 2024 elections as he has already marketed himself so well and has always been the choice of the masses in AOB but is left with delegates to look beyond their personal gain on the day of elections and choose a candidate that would remove the division and create an environment for all inclusive NPP in Asikuma Odoben Brakwa. He reminded the delegates to refresh on what he did in the 2020 primaries where he did not target any one but rather embrased all even when he knew the person was openly against him.

He pleaded with the delegates to help him brighten the light of AOB as he seeks to REBRAND ASIKUMA ODOBEN BRAKWA FOR COOPERATE ATTENTION.

He stressed that as the Secretary to the Breman development Committee and a former Youth representative to the Breman Traditional Council, coupled with his involvement in many community activities, there are a lot of economic potentials in AOB that has not been tapped particular in the aspects of Tourism, Agriculture and Industrialization. He would use his links and associations with people in authority both locally and nationwide as well as outside Ghana and the business community to advance the development of these economic potentials so as to create employment for the youth and women in particular

Advising Bannasco and his supporters, the elderly female rep on the committee, madam Patricia Nyan (Adjoa Grace) admonished him to maintain his calm and respectful brand as he did in 2020 and also advice all his followers to do same especially as most people are watching him closely and any divient character exhibited by his team may cause him.

The campaign manager on behalf of the team thanked the committee and all party faithfuls who in their own evolution accompanied Bannasco Ampong-Ansah to file his nomination and also assured the committee of a decent campaign as has been the style of Bannasco since his days of student politics and at the Constituency since 2004 when he was part of the Constituency campaign for P C Appiah Ofori.

Colleague aspirants from other constituencies, former and current student leaders, members of the NPP communication team from various levels, some church leaders and members from Methodist church Ghana, Winneba Diocese and colleague teachers, former football mates and classmates were all there to support him.
There was a nice interactive reception for all delegates and supporters at his residence “PAY YOUR TITHE VILLA” and people genuinely pledged their support for him this time round.
