‘We’re not traffic causers in town’ – Police & Military clash with (Pragia) Tricycle Drivers
Due to a supposed refusal to abide by a KMA order prohibiting them from entering the Kumasi business center, police and military forces clashed with tricycle drivers at the entrance to Racecourse in Kumasi.
In an effort to disperse the crowd that had blocked the major road leading to Kejetia as, on-duty police officers fired numerous warning shots.
Speaking to Kessben FM’s Ato Kwamina, some of the irate drivers expressed their frustration at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly’s decision to take a firm stance against their operations in the business zone.
They emphasized that they are not the ones causing congestion in Kumasi’s central business district.
