Speaking at the maiden award ceremony, Hon. Gloria Owusu commended about 860 public teachers within the constituency, describing the initiative as part of her commitment to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work of teachers. “This ceremony will not be a one-time event but will be an annual event to continually recognize exceptional contributions to education in the constituency,” she said.

Hon. Owusu also announced plans to celebrate commercial drivers on the 24th of this festive season as part of her broader effort to honor key community workers.

Former Minister of Education and MP for Manhyia North, Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, praised public sector workers, especially teachers, for their exceptional contributions. He emphasized that teachers play a crucial role in shaping all other professionals, including doctors, engineers, and many others across the world.

He congratulated his fellow award winners and encouraged those who did not receive awards, reminding them that this is only the beginning and urging them to continue working hard.
