Anaji Queen of Peace: 40-year-old Mason nabbed for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl
Police in Kwesimintsim, Ghana, have detained a 40-year-old mason named Thomas for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl at Anaji Queen of Peace, close to Takoradi.
While her parents were seeking for her, the suspect is accused of keeping the girl in his room for six days.
Sources claim that the guy would lock the young child in his room while he was away at work and let her out when he got home.
Confidence Fiadzo, the victim’s father, revealed in a media interview that he and his family, which included the 10-year-old girl, had recently migrated from Mpatado to the Anaji region.
He claimed that early on May 6, 2023—a Saturday—his 10-year-old daughter made the decision to go gather water from a well at Anaji Queen of Peace, which is about 10 minutes’ walk away from their new home, and she never came back.
The neighbor said that when she saw the small girl coming out of his room, she felt suspicious because the man did not have a wife or a child. She then informed the Anaji police about the incident.
The police arrived on the scene in a flash, rescued the girl, detained the culprit, and called the father to let him know what had happened.
They later instructed the father to take the girl to the hospital for testing, and it was there that the medical staff verified that the suspect had sexually molested the child.
The suspect is presently aiding with investigations at the Kwesimintsim Police Station.
