E-Levy defies the principles of taxation – Koku Anyidoho (Video)

A stalwart of the National Democratic Congress, Samuel Koku Anyidaho has reacted for the first time to the approved E-Levy by the Akufo-Addo led government.

The President of the Atta Mills institute speaking in an interview with Kwame Appiah Kubi on Kessben FM/TV stressed that taxation is a key aspect of a country’s development but the proposed 1.75% on electronic transactions is just more than a tax, describing it as a burden on Ghanaians.

Though Koku agrees that it is important to widen the tax net of the country, it totally wrong for mobile-money transactions to be taxed.

According to him, it defies the principles of taxation.

He stated that it is completely unacceptable for you to be taxed at the base and also be taxed if you want to send same money to your relatives.
