Ghana 1-0 Angola: Antoine Semenyo’s last-minute strike seal victory for Black Stars
Bournemouth player, Antoine Semenyo scored the game’s sole goal as Ghana’s Black Stars defeated Angola’s Palancas Negras at Baba Yara Stadium.
Ghana now leads Group E with seven points from three games, while Angola and Central African Republic are equal with four points each.
From a late free-kick, the second-half substitute hit a rebound to ensure Chris Hughton got off to a flying start as Black Stars head coach.
Mohammed Kudus had the opening chance of the game for the Black Stars, but the Ajax midfielder’s strike flew just wide of the post.
Gelson Dala pushed Lawrence Ati-Zigi into a wonderful save with his blast from outside the penalty area, which the Ghanaian shot-stopper parried away.
Kudus was denied in the 18th and 27th minutes, respectively, with Neblu coming up to the plate.
The second half wasn’t any better as Hughton’s side struggled to find the cutting edge needed to beat their opposition.
The Black Stars will now prepare for their next match against Angola, which will take place on Monday, March 27 in Luanda.
