Ghana Music Awards: It’s about who you know, If you don’t have your people on the panel, forget – Moses OK (Video)

Famous Gospel musician, Moses Osei Kwarteng, also known as Moses OK in the music industry, has said that winning an award in the country largely depends on the artiste’s relationship with the selection committee.

Moses OK speaking on Kessben FM’s Around Town with Koo Fante stressed that musicians are recognized not on merit but on the basis of “who you know,” which has resulted in people like him being overlooked for any award.

According to him, his remarks were not simply accusations, but rather based on personal experiences he had over the years.

He narrated how he was passed up for an honor that he was certain merited but couldn’t pursue because he didn’t know anyone on the selection committee who could advocate for his cause.

Moses OK bemoaned the fact that he had never won an award despite being a significant contributor to the growth of Ghana’s music industry.

He did, however, state that he is unconcerned with the issue because he is focused on his purpose of sharing the gospel in order to positively impact people’s lives.
