Bad officiating is not enough reason for the poor attendance, the performance of the players should be up – Opoku Nti

Kumasi Asante Kotoko legend, Samuel Opoku Nti reckons claims of bad officiating in the Ghana premier league is not the reason for the low attendance of Kotoko games at the Baba Yara Sports stadium.

Opoku Nti speaking on Kessben TV’s Extra Time Sports underscored that bad officiating is not something new in football that can be a determinant factor in the current low patronage of Kotoko games.

According to him, even in their days as footballers, there were bad officiating in games but that did not deter fans from attending their games.

The former Black Stars player stressed that the Kumasi Asante Kotoko players to rather backup their performance so that it will attract the fans to the stadium.

Opoku Nti reiterated that the most important factor to drive the supporters to the stadium is by putting in a good performance therefore the need for the players to up their game.

He also urged the supporters of the club to rally behind the team in times of difficulty by trooping to the stadium to cheer on the team irrespective of the performance.
