2000 meters at Kejetia Dubai Market: I can’t give a timeline but it won’t be ‘Jesus is coming soon’ – Hon Sam Pyne

Hon Samuel Pyne, Mayor of Kumasi, has stated that he cannot give a timeline for when the 2000 electric meters will be fully installed at the Kejetia Dubai Market.

Traders in the Kejetia Market in the Ashanti Region’s Kumasi Metropolis are expected to get 2000 prepaid meters from the Electricity Corporation of Ghana (ECG).

The traders over the years have battled with the Kejetia market administration on multiple occasions over the decision to utilize a single bulk meter for the market’s nearly seven thousand (7000) stores.

Hon Sam Pyne, speaking with Akuoko Kwarteng on Kessben FM’s Amansan Tie, stated that the procurement process for the meters had begun but could not provide a specific date for when the meters will be fully installed at the market.

“We have reached a good conclusion on that. Apparently, we wanted to get them done before Christmas but due to some delays, it could not be done.

I won’t give a specific date as to when the installations will be over. Procurement takes some due process but it will be done soon. It won’t be the biblical soon, it won’t be the Jesus is coming soon” He said.
