A/R: 5 students in intensive care, 35 others receive treatment as dining structure collapses

Five students from the Ashanti region’s Ejuraman Anglican Senior High School are in serious care, while 35 others with lesser injuries are being treated after a makeshift dining building collapsed on them during a rainstorm.

On the evening of Monday, February 7, 2023, a sad incident occurred.

According to reports, the five pupils in intensive care have multiple fractures, while the remaining thirty-five are being handled by doctors on campus.

Isaac Adu Yaw, the Ejura-Sekyeredumasi Municipal Fire Commander, verified the occurrence and stated that investigations had commenced determining the cause of the structure’s collapse.

He feels, however, that the structure in issue was compromised by excessive rain in the area last Friday.

Christian Atsu, a former Black Stars winger who now plays for Hatayspor, was trapped under rubble in earthquake-ravaged Turkey at the time of this occurrence.

He was discovered alive after 26 hours of a rescue attempt to save other victims of the accident, which is still ongoing.

According to reports, Atsu has been brought to the hospital for medical care.
