Nungua Traditional Council Inaugurates Nungua Stool Lands Secretariat

The Nungua chief, king Odaifio Welentsi III together with the Chiefs and elders of the Nungua stool has recently inaugurated the official opening of the Nungua Stool Lands Secretariat, an initiative long hoped for.

Addressing a press conference organized by the Nungua Stool, the chairperson for the program, Hon. Nii Laryea Afortey Agbo, Former Minister for Greater Accra said, they have witnessed situations where people have been allocating stool lands which has created problems among most people. Which he says must be a thing of the past.

He therefore identifies it as a good reason why they needed to put up such an initiative to help curb the situation from repeating itself. ‘I want to assure everyone that as the leader and chairman of the program, this will be a successful one’ He stated.

However, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Emmanuel Edumua Bossman also stated clearly that, the Government of Ghana has endorsed the Nungua Traditional Counsel headed by the Paramount Chief and the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs for the wonderful project.

According to him, the Constitution of Ghana guarantees the institution of Chieftaincy because chieftaincy forms part of the building blocks of the country and that they’re very grateful as a government and fully support this project.

He ended his statement wishing that that project will serve as an example to chiefs who owns stool lands to help curb land issues in the country.

According to the Chief of Nungua, King Odaifio Welensti III, most court cases has to do with stool lands which is more reason why they had to inaugurate the Nungua Stool Lands Secretariat.

He admits he’s not well knowledged In the field Buh is ready to take advise from any expect concerning the project other than that, he sticks to his position and nothing can change that.

He reveals that, land commission will come to guide the staff on how to go about it. This he believes will streamline the administrative measure of the Nungua Stool Land.

‘It is my believe that other regions will also see to it that the good thing is done’. He stated categorically.
