Chelsea injury blow ahead of Champions League clash as star misses training

JOHN TERRY will almost certainly not feature in Chelsea’s crucial Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Terry has not played since February 13 when he was substituted before half-time as the Blues thrashed Newcastle 5-1 at Stamford Bridge.
And despite hopes that his hamstring may have healed in time for the second leg of Chelsea’s last-16 tie, Terry was not in training today ahead of tomorrow’s game.
But manager Guus Hiddink will not be unprepared for his skipper’s absence, having warned that Terry was still unable to reach full speed before today’s training session.

“I don’t think John will make Wednesday,” Hiddink said yesterday.
“There has not been enough development to put him on the list.
“The injury is not worse. This morning, he did training and treatment.

“He can run, but cannot go into a longer stretch where you have to accelerate.
“He has to be careful.”
Terry has spent his whole professional career at Chelsea but his contract at Stamford Bridge is currently due to expire at the end of the season.

And if he is to leave the club he joined at the age of 15 in the summer then he will be desperate to add as many games as possible to his tally before then.
However, with Chelsea 2-1 down after being beaten without the former England international in Paris, it now looks as though Terry may have made his final Champions League appearance for the club.
