Current crop of Asante Kotoko players are not serious, they won’t even qualify to train with the 1983 squad – John Bannerman (Video)

Asante Kotoko legend, John Smith Bannerman has emphatically stated that the current generation of players at his former club lack efficiency.

The member of the high-flying Asante Kotoko 1983 team says the current crop of players at the club would not even qualify to have trained with the 1993 squad.

He pointed out that the Kumasi Asante Kotoko team today lacks the seriousness to compete.

“From Elevn Wise to Asante Kotoko was not easy. All the players at Kotoko then (1983) were in the National team. PMK Kusi came from RTU as the captain to Kotoko and was not starting. He was always on the bench.

For the current crop of players, No oh, no oh no oh. Even at the training grounds when they come there, they won’t qualify to train with the 1983 squad. They can’t. This is because at that time the level of competition in football was up there.

This current generation, they are not serious. Football is about seriousness. These people, they can’t, they can’t, not even training with us” Bannerman said on Kessben TV’s Extra Time Sports.
