Didier Drogba out for six months?

Didier Drogba could reportedly face between four and six months on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury in Chelsea’s pre-season friendly against Ferencvaros on Sunday.
The Blues striker limped off with the injury, which the 36-year-old suffered when he landed awkwardly on his right foot after challenging for a header, after 28 minutes in Chelsea’s 2-1 victory at the Groupama Arena in Budapest.
Despite being substituted, the former Ivory Coast international played down the seriousness of the injury after the match.
“I twisted my ankle and I couldn’t continue,”  he said.
“In the next few days we are going to do some treatment and I hope everything will be better.”
However, Spanish publication Marca have claimed that Drogba’s injury could be worse than first thought after saying that the player’s initial medical tests suggested that he had torn ligaments in his ankle.
If true, it would mean that Drogba would miss the first half of the new league season – although Chelsea have not yet confirmed the severity of the striker’s injury.
Drogba recently signed a one-year contract with Premier League side Chelsea – two years after he left the club – following his departure from Turkish giants Galatasaray at the end of last season.
