Timing of Zuweira Abudu’s nomination to replace Adwoa Safo good – Boakye-Danquah

Government’s spokesperson on Governance and Security, Mr Palgrave Boakye-Danquah has said the President’s nominee for the Minister of Gender Children and Social Protection, Zuweiba has gained enough experience serving in the capacity of a Deputy Minister at the same ministry.

She has learned all the things she needs to, in order to become the substantive minister, he said.

The timing of her appointment, he said, is right.

“With the experience of Honourable Cecilia Dapaah as the caretaker Minister, I think that this is the time where the President believes that Lariba is fit to be the substantive Minister,” he said on the New Day show with Berla Mundi on TV3 Wednesday August 3.

“I have no reservation whatsoever in the confidence of the former Deputy Minister who has been lifted to become the substantive Minister, the President is confident in her, the people who voted for her are confident in her,” he added.

Mr Akufo-Addo announced her nomination nominated of the Member of Parliament for Wale wale as Minister-designate in a statement issued by the Director of Communications at the Presidency Mr Eugene Arhin, on Tuesday August 2.

“The president is hopeful that Parliament will expedite the approval of his nominee for the important ministry so they can assist in the effective delivery of his mandate for his second term in office,” the statement said.

Mr Akufo-Addo earlier revoked the appointment of Sarah Adwoa Safo as Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Mr Eugene Arhin on Thursday July 28.

She had been out of the jurisdiction for over one year.
