Asokore: ‘Pragia Drivers clash with police over the corpse of their late colleague (Video)
A number of ‘Pragia’ drivers in Asokore in the Ashanti Region clashed with the police after the police reportedly seized the corpse of their late colleague.
According to the Pragia drivers, before the burial of any of their late colleagues, is a tradition to perform some rituals for the dead which the police denied them leading to the clash.
The drivers speaking with Kessben FM’s Osempakani Sampson noted that while they were heading to the cemetery with the corpse, the police who were armed stopped them by seizing the corpse.
The police reportedly sent the corpse of the late Pragia driver to their MTTU office.
The action of the police triggered the already charged-up drivers to besiege the police station with stones and began pelting the stones at the police.
