Let’s not narrow Black Stars’ problem to only CK Akonnor – Franko Naro

The pressure continues to mount on the head coach of the Ghana Black Stars, C.K Akonnor after a disappointing 1-0 defeat against South Africa in the Qatar 2022 Worldcup qualifiers.

The Black Stars could not register more than 2 shots on target in the game which saw some changes been made by the head coach of the Black Stars.

Jordan Ayew, Abdul Baba Rahman and five others were left out from the squad to face South Africa due to coronavirus restrictions in England, where they ply their football trade.

Kwame Poku who featured in the absence of Jordan Ayew had some bashing and Frank Nero seems highly disappointed over his performance. Speaking on Tuesday’s edition of the Midfield Action sports show, Nero expressed disappointment over the performance of the former Kotoko forward.

“Coach C.K Akonnor himself will not be happy about the performance of the team. I had been contemplating that it was time to drop the likes of Jordan to provide platforms for the likes of Kwame Poku and others but for what I saw from Kwame Poku, it’s better for Jordan to continue with his role for now. The performance was very bad” Nero expressed.

“For what happened, clearly we have a general problem. Let’s not narrow it to the coach — sometimes in football, individual brilliance count, and looking at this team, there is no such thing” He added.
