Rather rename it as GHALCA invitational tournament, not top 4 – Kumasi Asante Kotoko Supporters

The League Clubs Association of Ghana, GHALCA has decided to make the tournament a six-club competition following an engagement with a potential sponsor of the tournament.

The GHALCA top 4 has apparently been a tournament that consists of 4 clubs. The tournament is being reintroduced to the Ghana football calendar after so many years.

The decision to make it a 6-club tournament by the organizers is reportedly informed by the call to include Accra Hearts of Oak who finished 6th on the 2021-22 Ghana league table in the competition.

Most Asante Kotoko fans are not enthused with the decision by the organizers of the tournament to include Hearts of Oak in the tournament who ought not to be part.

So far all the clubs have fully committed their readiness to play in the tournament except Asante Kotoko who are contemplating pulling out of the competition.

Former Vice-chairman of the Asante Kotoko Circles Council, Mr Kwame Owusu Donkor noted on Kessben Sports that, the organizers of the tournament (GHALCA) should rather change the name of the competition and rename it as “GHALCA invitational tournament and then invite any clubs they wish to participate rather than breaking the rules to forcible include Accra Hearts of Oak.
