If you won’t give us jobs, at least compensate us to start something to live on – Disabled tollbooth staff to Akufo Addo

The disabled folks who were sacked after the closure of road tolls have sent a petition to the Parliament of Ghana months after they were sidelined.

This follows after several visits to the ministry of the road without having any positive response.

About 60 of the physically challenged ex-workers at the various road tollbooths in Ghana on 5th July 2022 presented their petition to the parliament of Ghana calling for the attention of the house to their plight.

According to them, prior to their dismissal, the Government assured them to find different jobs for then but is been over six months and they are still at home doing nothing meanwhile they have families to feed.

In the petition, they called on the president of Ghana to intervene with urgency about their situation noting if there are no readily available jobs, they should be compensated.
