Police officers who shot into the crowd are armed robbers recruited by Dampare – Listowell Nana Poku

A leading member of the Arise Ghana demonstrators, Listowel Nana Poku has alleged that the police who opened tear gas at the Arise Ghana protesters were armed robbers who were recruited by the police service led by IGP, Dampare.

The Arise Ghana Demonstration turned violent on Tuesday following a clash with police as some protesters allegedly pelted stones at the police while the police also opened tear gas at the Demonstrators.

Listowel Nana Poku speaking on Kessben FM’s Maakye with Kwame Appiah Kubi expressed disappointment in the police administration for what he describes as unprofessional handling of the situation by the police.

He stressed that, for the indecorous actions of the police, they will be reporting the Ghana police to the United Nations.

“We are going to report Dampare to explain to the whole world for their unprofessional actions. We will go as far as to the UN to report Dampare to come and explain. Was that how to control a crowd, never, they must go there and explain for the necessary sanctions to be taken so that this will serve as a precedent.

“Most of these police officers who shot into the crowd are armed robbers who are recruited in the police service by Dampare and his men, Yes I Know some of them. What shows from what they did that they are not a terrorist group”

Listowel added that the major cause of this unprofessional behaviour by the police is how the police are remote-controlled by political leaders.
