Global recession to hit the world soon, start backyard farming – Kusi Boafo tells Ghanaians
The Chief Executive officer of the Public sector reforms, Mr Thomas Kusi Boafo has hinted that the global economy is soon going to suffer a serious financial crisis.
According to the former lecturer at the Kumasi Technical University, it has been forecasted that due to the global recession, advanced economies in the world are soon going to spend 22% income on food.
He noted that emerging economies will be spending 28% of individuals’ income on food while developing economies like Ghana will be spending a whopping percentage of 44% on food from a person’s income.
To face what appears to be inevitable, Mr Kusi Boafo has urged Ghanaians to cut down on unnecessary spending to mitigate the situation ahead.
Kusi Boafo speaking on Kessben TV’s Maakye with Akuoko Kwarteng encouraged Ghanaians to start backyard farming in their various homes.
He stressed that 83 countries are likely to be hit hard by the global recession which Ghana is obviously part of, therefore, urging Ghanaians to do away with lavish spending.
