Not bothered being ignored—Iwan
FOR some time now, Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Iwan believes he has been getting a raw deal anytime he releases a song.
Iwan, who dazzled Reggae/ Dancehall lovers with songs such as Who Is Bad, Thanks and Praise about a decade ago cannot understand why he is being ignored especially by the media.
In a chat with Graphic Showbiz, Iwan born Abdul Razak Issahaku says he now doesn’t care whether he gets support or not.
“I don’t know what to do anymore. I do the right songs and channel them through the right people so if I am still not getting the support, what else should I do?
“I am not bothered anymore. I will still continue doing what I know best, that is do good music and I believe some individuals will take note of me once again.
“I don’t know what I have done to the media especially to get this treatment. I send my songs to the media houses and they still don’t play them. All the same, Iwan is not someone who gives up easily. I am a fighter.
“My passion for music is very great. Most musicians do songs for the business aspect and therefore give up easily when things are not working out well for them but I have been doing this all by myself for a decade now. I don’t intend to give up because I love what I do” he said.
Away from that Iwan who is out with a new song, Colorado76 is not happy about the fact that most songs have short life span lately because of trends.
“These days, a new song drops and everyone is doing videos of themselves dancing to the song. A few days later, that song is forgotten because a new song takes over. What are we doing to ourselves? Let us allow our songs to grow.
“That is not how it was during the days of Amakye Dede, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Kojo Antwi and Daddy Lumba. They release an album and tour with it and made their monies but same cannot be said today” he stated.
Other songs Iwan has to his credit are Corruption, Educate Yourself, Mama, See Me Shy, Love Is My Religion, Am A Soldier, Jah Jah and Good .
