Don Bortey has not betrayed anyone, what Kotoko did with him was a concert – Hearts Oak NCC PRO
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the National Chapters Committee (NCC) of Accra Hearts of Oak, Kobby Jones has stated that the former player of the Hearts of Oak Bernard Don Bortey has not betrayed the club after waving Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s flag at the Baba Yara sports stadium last Sunday.
The Accra Hearts of Oak ex-footballer joined a number of Kumasi Asante Kotoko players at the Baba Yara sports stadium at the coronation game of Asante Kotoko vs Elimina Sharks to celebrate with the Kumasi-based football club for winning the 2021-22 Ghana premier league.
Many Accra Hearts of Oak supporters have expressed disappointment in their former player and legend to have gone to the extent of waving the flag of their bitterest rivals.
Communication director of the club’s supporters, Kobby Jones speaking on Kessben FM stressed that it was a concert by Kotoko to have allowed Don Bortey to come into their mix during the celebration.
“What they did was a concert. How can Don Bortey be their legend or they don’t understand who a legend is? Don Bortey has never played for them and he has not betrayed anyone. The supporters should not be worried about that” He said.
