GFA General Secretary Confirms Application of Nationality switch of Odoi, Nketiah, Inaki Williams etc

The General Secretary for the Ghana Football Association, Lawyer Prosper Addo has confirmed that the GFA has commenced official process to switch the nationality of some top foreign-born Ghanaians.

Players like Hudson Odoi and Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah have availed themselves to play for the Senior National Football team of Ghana but would have to complete the process of the FIFA nationality switch.

The Inaki brothers’ Inaki Williams and Nico Williams who recently also are reported to have now fully availed themselves for Ghana will have to go through the same process after having some stints with the junior sides of the Spanish national teams.

Prosper Harison Addo speaking in an interview with Sir Joe Laka on Kessben TV said the GFA has officially put in the application for the nationality switch of the players.

“You know our style of doing things, we don’t talk much until everything is finalized we like to keep things on the low. Is a process, each person’s application is different. FIFA will be asking for different documents concerning every player, For some of the players, you will get through the process at once, but for some others too you will have to provide different documents” He said on Midfied Action.

English-born Ghanaian footballer Tariq Lamptey recently completed his nationality switch to play for Ghana at the senior level.
