No management member took a dime as an appearance fee at the Qatar 2022 World – Oduro Sarfo (Video)
Executive committee member of the Ghana Football Association, Oduro Sarfo has rubbished claims that the management committee of the Black Stars took the appearance fee for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Following Ghana’s group stage exit from the 2022 World Cup, there has been a wide range of wild allegation mostly unfounded which has been leveled against the management committee of the Black and the GFA.
Oduro Sarfo reacting to the Ghana Football Association’s move to sue persons who have been peddling lies about the GFA stressed that no member of the management committee took a dime for the tournament.
Speaking on Kessben FM’s Midfield Action Sports show, Oduro Sarfo indicated that it has become necessary for GFA to go down this tangent of legal action against persons who have been painting the Football Association black.
“We are not to shut the mouths of journalists, but you should report what is true. For sometime, our football was not attractive but in recent times we positioned ourselves well now more sponsorships are coming in. No company will be happy to be associated with a brand that has been tainted with so much negativity.
Journalists have every right to speak but it must be true. You can’t just be speaking just to be famous. Now if you say anything that is not true, you will have to come to court to prove what you said.
We are not saying people should not speak because they are Ghanaians, we are also Ghanaians. Are we (GFA people) Togolese? If something is going wrong with lies, we have to protect it as FA.
People have been doing this for a long time and it is getting too much. It is deliberate for some others. What have we done? Speak but say the truth.
Let me add this, no member of the management committee of the Black Stars took a dime, not even a pesewa as an appearance fee. The Ministry of Sports prior to the tournament said this time no appearance fee.” Oduro said.
