The Mid-Year Budget Review is set to be presented on Tuesday, 25th July 2023. This date change comes after the initial announcement of Thursday, July 27, 2023.

This crucial event is expected to shed light on the government’s fiscal plans for the remainder of the year and address measures to ensure economic stability and growth.

In anticipation of the Mid-Year Policy Review scheduled for Tuesday, several key points have emerged, providing insights into the direction of Ghana’s economic landscape.

According to the Bank of Ghana’s summary of Economic and Financial Data for July 2023, the economy is beginning to show signs of stability.

This encouraging development comes after a period of uncertainty and fluctuations, indicating that the government’s policies may be yielding positive results.

A noteworthy accomplishment for Ghana in the first half of 2023 is the attainment of a trade surplus amounting to $1.77 billion.

The mid-year budget review is expected to prioritize policies aimed at securing economic stability and fostering growth.

A key aspect of the Mid-Year Policy Review will also highlight various reforms particularly the POST COVID-19 PROGRAMME FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH (PC-PEG) designed to strengthen controls and institutions within the country.

Specific areas targeted for enhancement include expenditure commitment control and arrears clearance, debt management, governance, tax policy and tax administration, as well as energy sector and cocoa sector reforms.
