CLOGSAG embark on nationwide strike over non-implementation of neutrality; Says Politicians take big ex-gratia (Video)
Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOSAG) is not backing off from taking their neutrality allowance from the Government of Ghana after a review of their condition of service.
According to the Association, the neutrality allowance formed part of a Memorandum of Understanding entered into with the government early this year.
There has been a backlash on the Association after they went on strike on Thursday 21st April 2022 in demand of what is due them based on the agreement they had with the Government.
Majority of Ghanaians have questioned the essence of the neutrality allowances the Association is pushing for. Many cannot find the essence of the allowance CLOSAG is calling for while they are being paid for the various work they do at their respective offices.
The Treasurer of the Association, Jerry Nyarko speaking in an interview with Kwame Appiah Kubi on Kessben TV stressed that it is unfair for the politicians to be taking big monies while the implementors and the technocrats are made to suffer from a chicken feed as remunerations.
He bemoaned that due to the limitations on their respective offices they are denied any opportunities which may crop up thus vehemently seeking the neutrality allowance as a breeder for them.
