Free transport for students up to JHS for Metro Mass Bus is still intact – Deputy MD of Metro Mass

The deputy managing director of Metro Mass Transit, Nana Osei Bamfo has stated the policy of the state-owned transport company on giving students free ride is still intact.

Speaking with Kwame Appiah Kubi, the deputy managing director noted that students between primary to the JHS level, are exempted from paying fares when they board the bus.

The state transport company was introduced by the erstwhile President Agyekum Kuffour’s administration.

The company was set us to provide reliable and affordable means of transport for commuters within villages, towns, and cities as well as provide intercity movement.

Years on the company has had its own challenges in delivering the service with which it was set up.

According to the MD, the company’s main aim is not to make profit but to break even, with the purpose to serve and fill the gap needs of Ghanaians.
