Traders clash with KMA after closing their shops at the Kejetia Dubai market over service charges

Hundreds of shops at the Kejetia Dubai market were locked by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly on Tuesday 5th April 2022.

The city authorities say the occupant of the various shops which were locked have not been paying their service charges for the past 6 months.

Meanwhile, some of the traders at the Kejetia Dubai markets in an interview with Kessben TV said they have been fulfilling the financial responsibilities with regards to what was in the contract when they hired the stores.

According to them, the Authorities have been harassing them with claims that they don’t pay for the charges which take care of the fumigation, sanitation and the security of the market.

Some of the traders who spoke to Kessben TV said, for every month they have been paying for the electricity bills and found it shocking to have learned KMA claiming that the traders have not been paying for the electricity bills.
