Former Hearts of Oak worker sues club for 17 months of unpaid allowances – Details and more
Former Hearts of Oak Commercial Affairs Manager Charles Kwarteng continues his legal battle with the club after dragging the Ghanaian giants to the High Court in Accra, demanding for compensation over breach of contract, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively report.
Kwarteng has sued the Accra giants at the Adjabeng Court demanding for a number of entitlements.
The former top official is leaving no stone unturned in his quest to clear his name and demanding for his outstanding entitlements dating back to 2019.
He dragged the club to the Ghana FA but the Player Status Committee of the association failed to rule over claims it did not have a certified employment contract of Mr. Kwarteng from the club.
Incensed by the ruling, the former Commercial Affairs Manager has dragged the club to an Accra High Court in what is expected to be a showdown legal tussle.
He is demanding his for outstanding salary for the month of August 2021 as well as unpaid fuel allowance for 17 months of the 24 months that he worked with the club.
He is also demanding compensation for the use of his private car used for official duties as the club failed to reimburse him as stipulated in his employment contract.
Mr. Kwarteng is also demanding for his outstanding salaries from 2019, unpaid SSNIT contribution and the payment of his mandatory Tier 2 contributions which is in arrears for 24 months.
The highly-rated former top official is also demanding for compensation for the shock he suffered as a result of the arbitrary advertisement of his position by the club.
Kwarteng was hired in 2019 as the General Manager, Commercial and Merchandizing but the role was changed to Chief Commercial Officer upon assumption of office.
He resigned from the role after Hearts of Oak won double last season and has since sent a petition to the FA demanding his entitlements from the Phobians.
Kwarteng, who was appointed into the role in September 2019, left the club just weeks after the Phobians won double in the Ghanaian last season.
The EMBA, MA and BA holder, was responsible for the club’s marketing outlook and devised strategies to develop the Hearts of Oak brand as a viable global business.
