Political Profile: NPP UK Branch Chairman Kwaku Nkansah, Aspiring National 1st Vice Chairperson

The governing New Patriotic Party will in July converge in Accra to elect national leaders to lead the party into 2024 General elections. The current UK Branch Chairman Kwaku Nkansah will be vying for the national first vice chairman of the party.

Below is a brief profile of Chairman Nkansah :

He started as a member of the NPP UK Commmunications team, rising to become the Deputy Organiser of the Branch. He took over from the Branch Organiser when he left to help with the election of the then Flagbearer now President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Having being the Branch Deputy Organiser and Organiser for 4 years, he threw his hat into the ring to become Chairman of the Branch in April 2018. His current term comes to an end in May 2022.

Kwaku Nkansah is credited with expanding the NPP UK Branch beyond London with the addition of more chapters, bringing the Party in the UK closer to the Ghanaian community. He has since inaugurated Chapters in Telford, Bristol, Aberdeen, Hull and also chaptered London into 4 – North, South East and West.

He has transformed and adopted the use of IT for a lot of the Branch’s business and processes.

He has also been supportive of his local constituency Offinso North, offering donations here and there.

As Branch Organiser, Kwaku Nkansah was part of the team that adopted 10 constituencies, winning 7 of these constituencies, culminating into the victory of the NPP 2016 elections.

As Branch Chairman, Kwaku Nkansah led the Branch’s efforts to help win Daboya Mankarigu, Yunyoo, Pru West, Amasaman and Yagaba Kubori.

He has worked closely with the International Affairs Directorate, helping to ensure that External Branches have representation at all levels.
