3000 Street bulbs distributed to assemblies but Kumasi is still dark, KMA PRO react (Video)

The chief Executive Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has recently distributed 3000 street bulbs to all the Assembly Members for their various electoral areas.

Each Member received 50 pieces (25 boxes) of the bulbs. The Electrical Unit of the KMA is also embarking on the installation and replacement of dysfunctional street bulbs in some principal streets within the Metropolis.

1000 pieces of the street bulbs are being used in this exercise by the Assembly. Reacting to why parts of Kumasi are dark and what the assembly is doing, the assembly’s public relations officer, Mrs. Henrietta Aboagye told the host of Kessben Maakye, Mr. Speaker that the Electrical unit recently identified the streets and realized that some of them needed poles, bulbs, cables as well as insulation tapes.

The First Phase of the exercise, she said included these areas, Asafo Cement Roundabout to LLL Traffic light which will require 35 poles, 70 bulbs, 5 coils, and 2 rolls of insulation tape.

Santasi Roundabout to Kokoben needs 30 poles, 60 street bulbs, 5 coils, and 150M underground cable. The unit is currently working on this stretch. Santasi Roundabout to Kokoben II requires 114 bulbs and 2 rolls of insulation tape.

Asafo Cement Roundabout to VIP Station requires 10 bulbs, 1 coil 200M underground cable, and 2 rolls of insulation tape.

The Electrical unit has also identified the following areas and is part of the second phase of the ongoing exercise with the exception of Bekwai roundabout to Santasi roundabout due to ongoing construction of the road.

The other areas are Ahodwo R/A to Atinga Junction Airport R/A to Suntreso Gov. Hospital Ahowo R/A to Santasi R/A Kejetia R/A to Suame R/A GRA Ash Town Road.

It is worthy to note that from Golden Tulip to Regional Office of Birth and Death Registry has no fault but the phases sometimes automatically cut out. The general public is entreated to report to the KMA Electrical Unit any stretch within the Metropolis which is experiencing any challenges with lighting.
