Sacked accountant at Komfo Anokye narrates how KATH officials embezzled COVID money to purchase luxurious cars

A former accountant at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Awuni Akyereba has recounted how funds that were meant to fight against COVID-19 were allegedly embezzled by the top officials of the hospital.

The aggrieved gentleman who reckons he was unfairly sacked speaking on Kessben FM’s Breaking News with Akwasi Ntiamoah said the top managers of the hospitals purchased luxurious cars after receiving donations from some benefactors to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the former accountant, the cars were bought at a time the hospital was lacking many basic facilities but the top brass went ahead to purchase the vehicles for their comfort.

Awuni revealed that because of the unfortunate development, He had to report the matter to The Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).

Awuni believed he was sacked due to his actions to ensure the right things must be done.
