Influx of condoms has drastically reduced HIV AIDS in Ghana – Doctor

As the World marks world HIV AIDS day today (1st December 2021), the Mankesim traditional council in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service organized a program to educate and sensitize people about HIV AIDS.

According to recent statistics, the prevalence rate of the disease has drastically reduced.

In Ghana, the prevalence is consistently higher among women than among men in all age groups –56% female, 44% male).

Dr. Agyarko Poku speaking at the programme underscored that the influx of condoms in the system and their usage has been one of the major factors of the reduction in the prevalence rate of HIV AIDS in Ghana.

He encouraged the youth ahead of the festive season to always play it safe when they are in the mood.
