Mbella and I were playing ‘Buga’ that’s why I gave him that tackle but I’m sorry – Osei Kuffour speaks

Bechem United Centre back, Samuel Osei Kuffour has apologised for the career-threatening tackle he gave out to Kotoko striker, Etouga Mbella.

The Defender, Osei Kuffour in the Ghana premier league game between Bechem united and Asante Kotoko at the Ofusugyeaboa Stadium in Bechem on Wednesday 2nd March deliberately stepped on the Kotoko striker which could have ended the career of the Kotoko player.

Speaking with Joe Laka on Kessben Sports after the game, the defender revealed that Mbella throughout the game was wittingly stepping on his foot, playing rough with him.

From his narration, he lost his cool and decided to revenge on the Kotoko striker with that bad tackle.

According to him, after the first half of the game, he went to Mbella and apologised to him.

He further took the opportunity to apologise to all football fans, especially Kotoko fans.

Ironically Osei was not punished by the referee for the bad tackle. The Ghana Football Association is expected to penalize him after reviewing the game.
