World Cup qualifiers: Jordan Ayew will end goal drought against Zimbabwe – Milovan Rajevac assures
Black Stars of Ghana coach, Milovan Rajevac has assured that Jordan Ayew will end his goal drought to end on Saturday when Ghana play Zimbabwe.
The West African country will host the Warriors in the third group game of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers at the Cape Coast Stadium today.
The Crystal Palace forward has 1 goal and 2 assists in his last 43 games for Palace and has also not found the back of the net for Ghana since scoring against Sao Tome and Principe in March 2021.
Addressing the media ahead of Ghana’s crucial game against Zimbabwe, the Serbian trainer says he is hopeful Jordan Ayew will find the back of the net once again for club and country.
“This problem is common among goal scorers. Sometimes, they have problems finding the back of the net and it is a difficult period for strikers in this time. However, we are here to support him, it is important for him to have our support.
“He knows this is a team game and it is important he contributes by scoring goals or providing assists but we hope his goal drought will end tomorrow,” he said.
Ghana need to secure a win to keep their qualification chances alive. After two matches played, the Black Stars sit 2nd with threepoints.
