CODA Cuts Sod For Construction Of Market At Agona Abodom
The Coastal Development Authority (CODA) has cut sod for the construction of 40-Seater Market stalls at Agona Abodom in the Agona West Constituency of the Central Region.
The project will be funded under the government’s Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP) otherwise known as the “One million dollars per constituency” initiative.
The new market is one of a number of projects that the constituency is benefitting from CODA under IPEP. So far, CODA has completed a 3-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Adukrom, a 2-unit KG block with Library/ ICT Centre at Wawase, and a 10-Seater disability-friendly WC toilet each with ancillary facilities at Nkubem and Yabem. Construction is also ongoing for a modern astroturf and a 6-unit classroom block at Agona Abodom, among other interventions by the Authority.
Speaking on behalf of the CEO at the ceremony, Mr. Emmanuel Affram Anim, deputy CEO in charge of Mobilization and Private Partnership, indicated that the project was part of government’s efforts aimed at alleviating poverty and improving living conditions for residents of Agona West. Mr. Anim called on the leadership of the community to support the contractor to enable him to complete the project on time.
Municipal Chief Executive for Agona West Municipal Assembly, Hon Evans Addison Onomah Coleman thanked CODA for adding to the list of IPEP-funded projects in the Municipality. He lauded the Authority for being a good partner in the development of the Agona West Municipality.
In his remarks, Chief of Agona Abodom, Nana Owuri also thanked CODA for all the interventions by the Authority and pledged cooperation and support for all developmental initiatives by government.
