Multi Credit gives GHc 30,000 to Kumasi Market fire victims

Multi Credit Savings & Loans has presented a cheque of GHc 30,000 to traders in the Dr Mensah area of the Kumasi Central Market who were affected by multiple fire outbreaks this year.
The money, donated by the bank, will enable the traders to restock and continue with their operations.
Mrs Jane Marshall Amissah, Multi Credit’s Head of Customer Relationships, said: “This is a small gesture by Multi Credit to show our support for our customers. These traders have suffered a number of set-backs this year and are still trying to get their livelihoods back on track.
“At Multi Credit, our focus has always been to promote entrepreneurship by supporting traders and small businesses. We felt the least we could do as their bank was to help them get back on their feet.”
Traders in the Dr Mensah section of the market have suffered loss twice after they rebuilt their stalls a year ago.
In February this year, more than 100 shops burned down. This was followed by another fire in May in which about 30 shops were gutted in a dawn fire outbreak.
