Avoiding road carnages on Kumasi – Accra road, a collective duty but dualizing will be best – Police PRO
Director for public affairs for the Ghana police service, superintendent Alexander Obeng has called on all Ghanaians to come together to fight the perpetual road carnages, especially on the Kumasi Accra Road.
Superintendent Alexander Obeng said if all stakeholders are to play their roles rightly, the rate of carnages will reduce drastically on our roads.
Speaking on Kessben FM’s #Maakye with Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye, the director for the public affairs at the Ghana police stressed that it is not only the responsibility of the road safety commission to fight these road carnages but the responsibility of all.
According to him, it will have been better if the Kumasi – Accra road is dualized because it’s the main road that connects many regions in Ghana but since it’s just a single road, all should play their roles rightly.
“It is not only the responsibility of the road safety commission or the police to make sure that road carnages are avoided, is a collective duty. Everyone should play their role well including the media doing good publicity about this, the drivers too doing what they are supposed to do with the road safety commission and the police all coming together to fight it” He said.
