Mahama’s Thank you tour is not about 2024 Presidential bid
Former deputy minister of information, Felix Ofusu Kwakye has stated that Former President John Dramani Mahama’s Thank You Tour across Ghana is not to nurse his ambition for the 2024 General election.
Felix Ofosu Kwakye reacting to a question posed by Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye on Kessben FM’s Maakye morning show debunked the assertion that the former president is embarking on the tour to whip up his interest to contest again in 2024.
Felix Ofusu Kwakye noted that it’s too early for the ex-president to start a campaign for 2024. “Before the 2020 General elections, former President John Dramani Mahama went to homes of Ghanaians to seek their votes and it is only right for him to thank them for voting for him after the elections. When you look at the results the EC released, Jonh Dramani Mahama had 6.2 million votes, and had it not being how the EC connived with the NPP the story would have been different. We want to thank the people for voting for us. It is a thank-you tour, is not a campaign for 2024. That is too early” He said.
The Thank you tour by Former President John Dramani Mahama kicks start on Tuesday 17th August 2021.
