‘Stop calling me, we’re coming for you’, Kurt Okraku warns match-fixing associates

The Ghana football association president, Kurt Okraku has sounded a strong caution to match-fixers and betting syndicates who are involved in Ghana football.

Kurt Okraku revealed that he has been receiving calls from these match-fixers and betting syndicate associates after the infamous final matchday game between Ashgold and Inter Allies at Obuasi.

Ghana football has over the years been severely hit with match-fixing scandals after the introduction of betting in the Ghana premier league games and other lower ties.

The GFA president addressing the issues of match-fixing and betting in Ghana football stressed the association is ever ready to fight the canker. “We’re not going to shy away. We all remember how our game was attacked by faceless coward. It is my responsibility to defeat them. We will face them, will clean our sport, we’re ready for them. Don’t call me, those calling must stop. We will chase them out of their hidden places” He said.

The Ghana football association reported the issue of match-fixing to the Ghana police for a thorough investigation to begin. The police have since instituted a committee headed by the commissioner of police to look into the issue.
