Frank Nero gives full gist on why Ismail Abdul Ganiu packed & left Kotoko camp
Asante Kotoko defender Ismail Abdul Ganiu has left the camp of Kumasi Asante Kotoko during the weekend to his hometown in Wa.
Following his move, there has been a wide range of reports in the local media that the solid defender will not return to Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
With few months left on the contract of Ganiu with the Kumasi-based football club, his decision to park and move to his hometown has triggered concerns about his future with the Ghanaian giants.
Senior sports journalist, Frank Owusu Ansah who is much versed with Asante Kotoko issues expounded on Kessben Sports ‘Mid-Field Action’ that the player only left because the Kotoko team is currently on a break after the 2020-21 season ended.
Frank Nero revealed that Abdul Ganiu who has only three months left on his Asante Kotoko contract had apparently been approached by a number of foreign clubs. According to the senior sports journalist, Kotoko has turned down the offers from these foreign clubs due to the money involved.
He noted that the Kumasi-based football club quoted around $300,000 for the player who has only 3 months left but the clubs are unwilling to cough out such amount to secure the defender which has left the deal hanging.
