Residents of Atwima Techiman, Dekyemmouso, others demonstrate over poor roads
Some Residents of Kwadaso Municipal and Atwima Kwanwoma in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, around 7:00 AM staged a demonstration against the Government to register their displeasure over bad roads in the area.
According to them, promises by the Government to fix the roads are yet to materialize.
Occupants from the following communities, Ohwiamase, Atwima Techiman, Dekyemmouso, Foase, Twedie, Traboum etc… during the demonstration blocked the deplorable road from commuters for using the route.
Nana Afriyie Takyi, Odikro of Dekyemmouso on behalf of Atwima Chief addressing the media stated that the traditional leaders in the area are not respected by the residents particularly the youth because of the bad nature of the road.
He mentioned that businesses, factories and other investors have relocated to other communities due to the bad road which is a hindrance to their productivity.
He said, besides the uncontrollable dust in the area which is affecting their activities, the bad road is also affecting enrollment of recognised institution like Afia Kobi SHS and other tertiary institutions in the area.
Nana Afriyie, thus, entreated the Government as matter of urgency to fix the roads.
