If People Should Pay Their Debts, ECG Will Make Profit – KOFI KAPITO

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Consumer Protection (CPA), Kofi Kapito, says if government officials should pay their utility bills, Electricity company of Ghana will not make losses.

In an interview with Akuoku Kwarteng on the big question, he said that, ECG’s reason for proposing the 148% increase tax tariffs on electricity bill is not the sole solution because ECG has a lot to do.

Kofi Kapito quizzed that, why would ECG wait to be owed by a company that takes dollars not Ghana cedis? He made reference to Terminal 3 of the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) and other offices of the Ghana Airports Company over unpaid bills.

According to him, the metonym for the president and their advisers in the United Kingdom are not exempted from paying their bills.
