Barcelona would fail to win Premier League title, says Gerard Pique

Gerard Pique says Barcelona would fail to win the Premier League because of the physical nature of the division.
The 28-year-old, current preparing with the Spain squad ahead of the international friendly with England in Alicante on Friday, spent four years with Manchester United between 2004 and 2008, making 23 appearances.
Pique returned to Barcelona, having spent time in their youth academy prior to his move to Old Trafford, in the summer of 2008 and has gone on to win La Liga on five occasions.
But Pique feels Barcelona and El Clasico rivals Real Madrid would be unable to transfer their La Liga success in England, citing a trip to Stoke City’s Britannia Stadium as particularly difficult.
“I think that if Barcelona or Real Madrid goes to the Premier League then the first year of playing there, there is no chance of winning it,” he told the Daily Telegraph.
“Yes, I think so, because if you go to Stoke, or other types of teams, then it will be really tough.
“It’s a debate – we could spend hours on it. If Manchester United or Chelsea go to Spain, then the same. No chance to win the league.”
