Ayew can become Africa's best'

Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan, is tipping his compatriot to follow in the footsteps of his famous father Abedi Pele.
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has backed his international teammate Andre Ayew to receive this year’s African Footballer of the Year award.
The Swansea midfielder and Christian Atsu were part of the initial 37-man shortlist put out by CAF but a final list of ten players put out by CAF on Monday has Ayew in and Atsu out.
And Black Stars skipper, Gyan, is tipping his compatriot to follow in the footsteps of his famous father Abedi Pele.
“We are all behind him (Ayew) he is making Ghana proud right now because he is the only Ghanaian in the list, as a Ghanaian Andre has done well and i believe all of them deserve to win it,” Gyan told Starr FM.
“I was disappointed Atsu didn’t make the shortlist because he was voted the 2015 AFCON Player of the tournament but things happen.”
Current CAF Player of the Year, Yaya Toure, and his international team-mate Serge Aurier are on the shortlist as well as current BBC African Footballer of the Year, Yacine Brahimi, Algerian winger Sofiane Feghouli, Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah, and Senegal forward Sadio Mane.
Dortmund and Gabonese forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also made the list. Winners will be voted for coaches or technical directors of the federations affiliated to CAF.
The awards ceremony will be held in Abuja, Nigeria on the 7th of January, 2016.
