State House staff involved in accident

A Mercedes Benz bus which was carrying some workers of the Flagstaff House, has been involved in an accident on the Ako Adjei Interchange in Accra.
The accident occurred when a Man Diesel Truck from the Canadian Embassy portion of the road, ran into the government registered staff bus, as the driver attempted a turn towards the Osu stretch of the interchange.
The driver of the truck reportedly said he had a brake failure and had to hit the bus from behind to stop his truck. Meanwhile, 16 persons including the driver, sustained minor injuries and are receiving treatment at the Cantonments Police Hospital.
The Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service confirmed the incident to Citi News adding that they are currently investigating the case.
This comes on the back of two accidents that had occurred in the last two months involving some journalists that covered programmes the president attended.
The first one occurred on the Afienya-Doryumu road in the Greater Accra Region, leaving Samuel Nuamah of the Ghanaian Times Newspaper dead, and several others injured.
The second happened in the Western Region which left Citi FM’s Western Regional Correspondent, Obrempong Yaw Ampofo hospitalized.
