Leaders of the Let My Vote Count Alliance have suspended today’s planned demonstration after an Accra Circuit Court issued an injunction to prevent them from picketing at the Electoral Commission on its demand for a new voters register.
Leaders of the group have now resolved to suspend the demonstration in compliance with the court order but are peeved over the development.
Ibrahim Adjei, spokesperson for the group told Starr News that the defense used by the police to stop their demonstration is disappointing.
“The police seems to be confused because the documentation we have on them says that hardened criminals were planning to come to Greater Accra which has nothing to do with our demonstration.
“Ghanaians have every right to feel disappointed by the actions of Police …but ofcourse as for the protest it would come on but on another day”.
