Ahead of the NDC primaries which is slated for November 7,the President, John Mahama will today [Thursday], pick up his nomination forms to contest the presidential slot of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
President Mahama who is seeking to be re-elected as the party’s flag bearer for the 2016 general elections, is expected to be at the party’s headquarters in Adabraka this afternoon. Despite suggestions by some executives for Mr. Mahama to go unopposed, the youth organizer of the Oyarifa branch of the NDC, George Boateng has picked up nomination forms to contest the President. According to him, President Mahama has not performed satisfactorily in addressing many of the country’s problems.
Meanwhile nomination for parliamentary seats within the NDC has witnessed a keen contest as some new entrants have joined in the race. Among these include media practitioners such as Alhassan Suhuyini(Tamale North), Kwame Dzokoto (Tarkwa-Nsuaem) and Obuobia Darko-Opoku (Weija/Gbawe).
