Charles Antwi, the now famous gunman who attempted to assassinate President John Mahama is yet to be discharged from prison in spite of a court order for his release, Starr News’ court correspondent Wilberforce Asare has reported.
According to Asare, court officials are yet to type out the order for an onward submission to prison officials to enable them execute it. His lawyers are reportedly angry over the development.
The mentally unstable gunman was on Monday released by an Accra Human Rights court after he was initially slapped with a 10-year jail term by a magistrate court.
The judge in a certiorari order ruled the 36-year-old man should be taken to the Psychiatric Hospital for treatment.
